Today is July 23rd. As I was thinking back and realizing that its been 30 years, knowing I missed being contacted for the 20th, wanting to go to our 30th, finding this website (great job) I discovered my whole life consisted of, realizing, knowing, wanting, and finding! Sorry I missed the soiree. Keep me in mind for the next one. Miss you all.

Just found this web site thanks to Wayne Sills.  I lost touch with almost everyone from school when I moved to Milwaukee, WI.  I moved back to the area (Plymouth) in 1992 and I have been surprised to find I never seem to run into anyone even with all the time I spend in South Bend.  This site brings back a lot of memories.

We walked out of the doors four years later, but carry fragments of memories from throughout those years forever. Seeing the schools of today makes me appreciate more than ever what an exceptional and unique school we had.

Although I never had the pleasure of attending Jackson High School, (my family moved to the Detroit area during my 7th grade year), I have such fond memories of my elementary school friends.

Please include me in your updates of the Class of '72 reunion this July, as I'm thinking about attending.

Thanks so much!

This is great. I have not had any contacts with anyone from JHS in years. I am back in Indiana. We live in Noblesville and I am a professor at Purdue in Education. Must have been all that good training at JHS. Would love to hear from you.

Wow, it's weird going back to the '60's. It's even weirder having kids in college, who wear the same stuff WE did in the 60's. Great idea, I hope to hear from old friends. Not sure about going to another reunion, though. I've been to the previous 5. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Kenny Hayward (class of '69) I'd love to get in touch with him! He's my ex brother in law and I miss him! Will you folks who are here in South Bend pick up the phone and call for crying out loud!

This is a nice site. I wish more from our class knew about it.

Deborah Hill Sebastian

This is awesome! I never attended a class reunion. I wasn't the best disciplined or popular student, but I've always wondered what happened to all of you. I didn't make it rich or famous but I have found happiness in a quiet little Florida town. I guess not all of us still fit into  our bell-bottom /  hip huggers,  and I'm not sad for that because they still look sloppy!

I wish everyone a very festive time at the reunion

  • Now living on the eastern seaboard, I've felt like such a motherless child. And now through this cyber-umbilical a reconnection to the motherland/fatherland--I've never been able to positively identify South Bend's gender-- is established. I'm here in NYC and my roots are showing. Wow, what a world.

  • My family moved the summer before our junior year, but I remember a lot of people from John Marshall and Jackson and hope to see (recognize!) them this summer as I plan to come to the Friday night thing.

As Wayne Sills was taking time out of his busy day, he told me about this site.  And I'm glad he did!  I'm glad that someone did what I had thought about doing, but never did.  This site is a great way to to relive all those memories and stay connected to our classmates.  I hope to hear from you! I wish everyone a very festive time at the reunion.

Nanette Lutes Pigaga
npigaga@yahoo.com

I NEVER see any of my old classmates ...My parents moved to Omaha just 3 months before I graduated AJHS, and moved back to IN a few years later...but to Fort Wayne. Summers during college were spent there. I moved out east to Philadelphia before getting married and moving to New Jersey. I was surprised to find Joe Kocy living out here too (he has since deserted to MD).

My parents and brother Steve now live in my mom's hometown of Granger...quite the hotspot of suburban South Bend! We remember it much differently! My sister Linda is in Bloomington.

I have visited So. Bend quite a few times in the past several years doing family history research. My husband and I reunited my father (an adoptee) with his biological family in 1995. My dad had the opportunity to meet his biological mother before she died in 1998, and also met his only fully biological sibling, an older brother. They never knew of one another...they had been separated 70 years. If any of you know of the LANE family of South Bend, contact me. I'm still looking for relations!

Beth McGhee Horvath Booklady59us@yahoo.com

Hi! It was such a surprise to find this site. I still live in the South Bend area and I am working as a Librarian in an elementary school. I would love to hear from my old classmates.

Greetings from Chicago. I'm a senior partner with the intellectual property law firm of Ladas & Parry (yeah, another stinking lawyer). I have three sulking adolescent offspring and an extremely tolerant spouse. Looking forward to another reunion

It's been a fast thirty years! It's going to be great to see how everyone has changed as the time has passed.
I have lived in three states since I've left high school, and I currently live in Muncie, Indiana, for the longest I've ever lived anywhere.
I am happily married and have three intelligent children (not to brag...). My oldest daughter, who's 24, recently completed grad school and will soon be pursuing her MD. My son, who is 18, is preparing to begin his sophomore year of college at IU in Bloomington, and my youngest daughter, who's 17, will soon begin her senior year at school in Yorktown, and plans to attend IU as well.
It will be great to catch up with all the friends I had in high school and see how successful everyone else has become.

Feel free to email me! I'd like to touch base by email with anyone who would like to chat and reminisce over the simple days.

I'm so glad to see this website. What a great way to be able to reconnect with everyone from school. My family moved away from South Bend while I was in college and I've really lost touch with everything there. This is the first reunion for my class (72) that I've even known about. I won't be able to make this one (going to a family reunion in Michigan) but I hope I'll make the next one.

Carol Pehling Swanstrom

Just returned from the 2002 Olympics with my cousin Wendy Pehling (class of 74) and she told me about this site. It's awesome...almost as great as the Olympics were! Having a great life, married 25 years, one son, 22 who is trying to "find himself". Boy those words come back to haunt you don't they? Live in the BIG town of Niles, MI and would love to hear from anyone who might remember me.

In the middle of a busy day, when I should be doing more productive things, a strange force took over my brain and made me type Andrew Jackson High School into a search engine. I've just blown a half-hour, cyber-surfing down memory lane, until my 11 year old came in to my office, looked at the site, rolled his eyes and said yeah, wow , really cool dad, can I go on-line now? Hope to see you at the reunion.

Rob and I are so sorry that we are missing our first reunion. We have really enjoyed each of them in the past. We have a son getting married on Aug. 3 in IL. We have to travel up North several times this summer, but this reunion weekend would make it too many trips up. We hope everyone has a great time and we will look forward to our 35th!

Hi Everybody! I really wish I could be there for the 30th, but I'm not going to make it. It's been a long time since I left Indiana. After graduating from Ball State, I moved to Phoenix in 1977, then to Seattle in 1980 and then Salem in 1990 where I still reside today. I love the North West. I've thought of all my classmates often and I hope everyone is well. For those attending the reunion...PARTY ON!

Just heard about the web site when I was home for Thanksgiving. I'm living in Ft. Lauderdale. Bob Thoner and Ed White are also in the area. Hope to make it back for 2002 30th! (Can't be 30 years already.)
