"We've Only Just
Begun"
Reprise
of our Freshman Hallway theme and poem
We've only just begun to see
a hint of silver hair.
We smile to think
we haven't changed,
Or to think that we don't care.
We've only just begun to see how youth can slip away, though deep inside we'll always be
the same as yesterday.
Though times have changed, the years have passed
since a similar verse was penned
It's time we've added one more rhyme
to those written way back when...
We'd only just begun to see how swiftly years can pass
Twenty five years
have come & gone,
yet
memories draw us back.
To high school days
To poems once written,
To weekends having fun.
To simpler
days...
To making friends ...
To a freshman class
who had ...
Only Just Begun

The original Freshman Spirit Week Poem painted on our mural in the fall of 1971 can be seen
here. Warning: It's a bit
sappy and well never mind, you'll see.
